Thank you for listening to the long drawn out questions about more than just the book we were reading in class.
From the questions about "The Yellow Wallpaper" to “Do you have any sodas in your mini fridge?” thank you for reminding me that there are no stupid questions. I could always count on you to stick with me, even when my questions were irrelevant.
Thank you for pushing me to do my best.
All of the times I worried about success, you were always there to remind me that if I try my best, everything will fall into place. It will always be OK.
Thank you for teaching me that failure does not bring me down -- it can only build me up.
From that not-so-great grade on that test to not getting to the college I wanted to go to -- thank you for reminding me that those learning experiences are far more important than the “A."
Thank you for noticing me on the days I felt unnoticed and unwanted.
The second I would walk into your classroom, I could always count on you to know whether or not it was a good or bad day. Thank you for caring enough to notice.
Thank you for positively impacting my high school career and beyond.
Your lessons in and out of class time are lessons that I will teach my kids one day, just as you taught all your “kids."
Thank you for teaching me not to be a sheep.
You not only taught me to be myself, but you taught me that sometimes the paths of others are not always the best path for me, and that’s OK. Everyone’s journeys are different, but learning to love and embrace your own is the best thing to do.
Thank you for listening to me rant about boy problems.
Whether it was asking for help on creative ways to ask that boy to the school dance or how to handle heartbreak, you always know that right things to say.
Thank you for giving me some of the best advice I’ve ever heard.
The constant reminder that bumps are only bumps, not roadblocks, is something that has stuck with me when the going gets tough, still to this day. Thank you for the encouragement that I can do anything, even when I think otherwise.
Thank you for being the best teacher, mentor and friend I could have ever asked for.
Without your mark on my life, I wouldn’t be the student, worker, friend and person I am today. Your inspiration along the way has encouraged me to want to do the same for others one day. Thank you for all that you do. You are so cherished.
Oh, and I just got my printer fixed. Can I still turn in that assignment?
