Vegetarianism-- not to be confused with the ever so proud vegan. It is quite simple... we don't eat meat. But for whatever reason, we're questioned like we've personally offended the turkey, ham or other animal that everybody else is about to devour.
As the years have passed, I've found these to be true for a veg-head during the holiday season.
1. The kind, but excessive efforts that just end up making you feel like you're a burden when family tries to accommodate your eating habits.
2. Or the awkward dinners when there's absolutely nothing that doesn't have meat in it.
3. But not really caring about the food at all, as long as there's wine to fill up on.
4. And then those who begin the conversation "Why don't you eat meat?" and "how do you get your protein?"
5. Somehow still managing to gain holiday weight, without really knowing how... so coming prepared wearing clothes with room to grow.
.... probably from the desserts
6. My eating habits might stand out more than the Holiday Armadillo...
But the holiday season is always something to celebrate!
