Best friends really do change your life

11 Things My Best Friend Got Me Hooked On

As many know, having a best friend is an amazing thing in the world. They make you laugh, and cry, and go on adventures with you and bring you ice cream/junk food when you are having a bad day. They also have the potential of really influencing things in your life; what you like, how you dress, what music you listen to or what shows you may watch. These are just some of the things my best friend Lexi has gotten me into over the years, and things that probably will not change anytime soon in terms of me liking them.

1. Snyder's Buffalo Pretzels

If I had known I would love a type of pretzel as much as I love these I would have started eating them much earlier. I know this is a weird thing for a friend to get you into, but I have never liked anything hot tasting or spicy, just could never do it. So when she made me try these instead of eating the honey mustard ones I hold so near and dear to my heart, I was shocked I actually thought they were good. Now they are my go-to junk food or something quick and easy to snack on.

2. Kacey Musgraves

Country music; something I have never loved no matter how many Luke Bryan and Tate Atkins type songs are out there, I just really, really dislike country music. I have such a wide variety of different music I listen to, but there is just something about country music I could never understand why people enjoyed it. Kacey Musgraves was shoved into my face however, and it was the best thing ever. I loved her style, especially because it didn't sound like traditional country music. So she's an exception as well as Carrie Underwood (cause, I mean, who doesn't love Carrie Underwood).

3. Vampire Diaries

I have never been too keen on vampire, werewolf, or zombie anything. The Twilight series made me want to gouge my eyes out, and the Walking Dead just got way to repetitive and lost my interest real quick. So why did I fall in love with this show that has vampires and werewolves and other creatures in it so much? Honestly it's probably because the Salvador brothers are hot as hell.

4. Five Below

Unlike the Dollar Tree store, Five Below actually has pretty reasonable items, and things you might actually want. They also don't lie when they say everything in the store is really $5 or less (Dollar Tree has a bunch of items for more than a dollar). I do all my shopping here for silly presents and other fun knickknacks.

5. Sriracha sauce

Again with the not liking spicy and hot anything edible, but here I am once again falling in love with something spicy and hot that is edible. Oh well. It is so good with chicken nuggets and everyone really should try it. Just don't eat to much of it at a time if you don't like spicy things too, too much.

6. RuPaul Drag Race

The QUEENS on this show are phenomenal and I am now in love with all of them. They are all so creative and each have their own style and look. I have never seen so many drag queens on one show in all my life and I love it. I highly recommend this show to everyone. (Peppermint or Sasha for the win on this current season).

7. Pretty Little Liars

Now, this show was the hype for such a long time, I think it still is actually. I didn't want to start watching it just because everyone else was, and also because I would always miss it whenever it aired. So when I got Netflix Lexi made me watch it just to see if I liked it, and lo and behold I did. I'm so behind on the newest season though so no one spoil it for me!

8. Khalid

Yes, I know this artist hasn't been around too long, but if it wasn't for Lexi, i would have never started listening to him. All his music is great and so relaxing to listen to. He really gives off great vibes, and I could probably listen to his music all day every day. Hopefully I will be able to see him in concert someday.

9. Getting me out of my comfort zone

This is probably the most influential thing Lexi has ever done. Being an introvert, I am not one to want to go out in public a lot, or be in large crowds. Lexi, as well as most of my other friends, are all super outgoing. Over the years, she just got me out more and made me do things I would not have done on my own, and I'm thankful for that. Although i still do enjoy my peace and quiet being alone.

10. Dairy-free Mac n' Cheese

Now, I know what you may be thinking, how could fake mac n' cheese possibly be an influenced thing in my life. Well, Lexi is allergic to dairy, so she can't have the real stuff unfortunately. So sad. But her fake mac n' cheese is actually really delicious and I almost like it more than Kraft.

11. Tinder

Last but not least, yes, this dating app has made the list. If I could tell you I was only joking about this, I would. In all seriousness though, I have met some pretty interesting people on this app, a lot who I have stayed friends with. It really is just a big joke and I make fun of it a hell of a lot more than I actually use it for it's intended purpose.

Epic Creation Myths: Norse Origins Unveiled

What happened in the beginning, and how the heavens were set in motion.

The Norse Creation Myth

Now, I have the everlasting joy of explaining the Norse creation myth. To be honest, it can be a bit kooky, so talking about it is always fun. The entire cosmos is included in this creation myth, not just the earth but the sun and the moon as well. This will be a short retelling, a summary of the creation myth, somewhat like I did with Hermod's ride to Hel.

We all scroll through the radio stations in the car every once in a while, whether its because we lost signal to our favorite one or we are just bored with the same ol' songs every day. If you're like me and LOVE some good throwback music, here's a list of songs from every genre that have gotten lost in time, but never truly forgotten.
