To this day, I haven't seen my boyfriend for seven months (almost eight).
Not only have I not seen him, but I barely get to talk to him. Some days I get nothing from him. Most days I get a three or four emails. Rarely do I ever get sent pictures of him or hear his voice.
You can't see your boyfriend during quarantine, which may be different and hard for you (I'm not saying you don't deserve to miss your boyfriend), but be happy you can talk to him or that he's even in the same country as you. I know for some, they aren't more than two days away from their significant other, so this lockdown is making some relationships go over a rough patch and people are starting to get a little bit of a taste of what it's like to really miss someone while they're gone.
However, all over social media, military girlfriends cannot vent about how annoying it is to see others say that going this long without their boyfriend or girlfriend is the worst thing they've ever been through.
"Everyone is allowed to miss their boyfriend!"
Yes. You are absolutely right. I have never put someone down for missing someone else. However, people don't realize how lucky they have it. My boyfriend is literally across the world. Like I said before, I hardly ever get to hear from him. The thing that pushes us every single day is our love for each other.
We cherish every second we can talk, even if it's an email. I would do anything to have him in the U.S with me, let alone the same state or even town. Even if he was playing video games all day (which realistically, that would be the case), at least I would be able to talk to him and hear his voice before I went to bed every night.
So next time you are missing your S.O., remember it could always be worse. Cherish the moments you have with him.
