Flashback to 2006. It was a year of Etnies and "Welcome to the Black Parade," but most importantly, it was the year of the coolest phone to ever exist. The Razr.
If you were even thinking about being the coolest of the cool kids, then you had one of these. In 2006, I was in the sixth grade and my Razr was my second cell phone. It was the first one I got to pick out. I had the silver one, as seen above, but that's not all.
Razr's were way ahead of the customization game. Mall kiosks were flooded with rainbows of cases to put on them, and Claire's had a cellphone charm for every occasion.
If you're wondering why I'm going on about this phone when we're in the midst of iPhones and Androids, then it's because Motorola has some possibly exciting news. They recently tweeted, "Time warp! We’re cranking the nostalgia to 11 as we flip back to the #Razr days of 2006."
Not to mention, Motorola released this commercial, which has all Razr fans crossing their fingers in anticipation. According to Alternative Press, we should hear something about what will hopefully be the Razr's return on June 9, 2016.
Don't get me wrong; I love my iPhone and all of my apps. But there's nothing like having to press numbers two and three times to get to a letter, or snapping your phone with sass when your conversations are dramatically over.
I'm looking forward to a possible resurgence of my favorite childhood phone. I can't say I'll be giving up my iPhone yet; that depends on what the new Razrs will have!
If you had one of these phones or remember when your kids had them, then what do you think about a possible comeback?
