Creativity, adventure, and becoming the spotlight of country music are some of the goals singer and songwriter Alexis Taylor strives for. Alexis Taylor is originally from Canada and was raised by a mom and dad who both worked in the music industry, the perfect combination.

From the age of 12, Alexis took music to heart with every ounce of support from her family. Huntsville, Ontario, was both beneficial and hard to grow up in, yet her music was her driving force attracting crowds from all over just to see her play.

Students in her school sung the lyrics to her songs after she performed, people looked up to her, and she became one of the few Canadian country singers that has made such an impact that she's played at venues such as the Huntsville Algonquin Theatre.

Her ambitions were too big for Canada to hold. Alexis packed her bags to go to a Christian university in Virginia for her first year of college. Alexis still was not in a place she could develop her full potential in her passion, music. She took her guitar by the neck to Nashville, Tennessee.

Alexis, like many musicians, came to Nashville with a guitar case full of dreams and a heart full of ambition. She continued her education at Middle Tennessee State University, worked full time, and worked day in and day out to produce a quality album.

I had the chance to listen to her play at the Maxwell Millennium Hotel. She rocked the house playing both her own songs and covers for four hours. Listening to her voice reach every part of the room during that time speaks volumes about her ability to perform.

To top everything off, Center Stage Magazine featured her new hit song “Until I See You Again” in their latest issue. I asked her what inspires her songwriting, and she responded with “Relationships.” She explained further that her experiences with others from her friend’s breakups to her own, and everything in between curates her lyrics.

Alexis will finish her EP over the course of the summer, which will showcase the hours upon hours of writing, studio time, and overcoming life’s challenges. Through and through, Alexis Taylor is bringing a new style to country music in Nashville clashing culture, experience, and talent with the average Nashville country singer.

If the article alone does not explain Alexis Taylor’s music this quote from Shania Twain, a country singer from Canada that Alexis looks up to, will, “ Without a doubt, the best way to get to know me is through my music.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
