It has hit that point in the year...the flu is going around, zombies and skeletons line the streets and the nights feel so long. No, I am not talking about fall, I am talking about the middle of the semester for college students. It has hit the point where sleep has reached its minimum and the workload has reached its maximum. Syllabus week is a thing of the past. To all of those college kids (including me) who do not know how this time of year already got here so quickly, no need to worry, Justin Bieber knows how we feel.

Realizing midterms are only a week or two away

Trying to have a good time while your responsibilities linger in the back of your head

When your teacher asks, "How didn't you know? It was on the syllabus."

Remembering how easy life was only a short while ago

What you want to be doing...

Versus what you are actually doing

Reaching a delusional, overtired state

Finally getting the chance to eat after a long day of studying

Being able to participate in clubs, go to the gym and get all your homework done before 1am

Stepping out of your last exam until finals like

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
