To My Big,

Going out for recruitment was easily the best decision I’ve ever made. Going away to college is scary for just about everyone, and I thought a great way to meet people and make friends would be to join a sorority. I couldn’t have been more right. Not only did I meet 177 other girls to call my sisters, but I met the ones who are my best friends, my role models, my roommates, and the lucky one I get to call my Big.

So, to the biggie to my smalls, where do I even begin to describe how thankful I am to have you as my Big?

Thank you for taking me in. You helped me learn about our sisterhood from the very beginning. You’ve guided me through chapter, philanthropy events, socials, Toad's and helping me be less of a total freshman. My adjustment to college was a whole lot easier with you by my side. You helped me through tough times and celebrated with me during the good ones.

Thank you for being just as weird as I am. I know I can always count on you to laugh at what I’m going to say, and you know I’ll laugh just as hard as any weird thing that comes out of your mouth. I appreciate you not screenshotting all of my repulsive Snapchats just as much as I appreciate the ugly ones you send me back. I know you’ll accept me no matter what weird things I say or do, mostly because you’re stuck with me, but also because you love me and we’re the same person.

Thank you for being a perfect role model. You always work super-hard on your academics, but once the week is over I know I can find you at a frat or out doing something fun. You balance everything out so well, and I truly look up to you in everything you do.

Thank you for everything food-related. From sushi after chapter every Sunday to going to Acrop during finals and ordering pizza with me whenever either of us would please, thank you. Especially thank you for not judging the amount I eat and how often we eat together.

Thank you for everything you do for me. Though it mostly includes taking me out for food, I truly appreciate you always doing me favors and having a car to help me run errands when I didn’t have a car as a freshman. And thank you for spoiling me with crafts, gifts, and candy; you truly rock for that.

Thank you for endless support. I know you’ll always be my No. 1 fan, and I can’t appreciate it enough. I know you always have my back with everything, no matter what it is. I know you’ll always be honest with me and give me advice whenever it’s needed, and you somehow always know what to say.

I’m forever grateful for everything you have done for me thus far, and I can’t wait for all that we’ll do together in the future. Thank you for being you; I couldn’t imagine anyone else as my Big. I can’t wait for more adventures and sushi dates in the future.
