Taylor Swift has done it again. On December 20 at midnight, she released her "1989 World Tour Video" on Apple Music. She starts the video with a monologue. "Getting ready for this, I wondered about a lot of things. I wondered what it would be like to perform for 70,000 people. I wondered what it would look like if they were all lit up and dancing like no one was watching them. I wondered what would happen if I invited the most amazing artists in the world to come out with me and perform on my stage—would they do it? I wondered what it would be like to get so lost in it and never want it to end. It would be like this. This is the '1989 World Tour.'" OK, chills. For those who were not able to go to Taylor's "1989" tour, or for those who want to replay it again and again, it is now available for viewing at your convenience.
Taylor Swift has always been an inspiration to me. She started producing her first song at only 16 years old and is now 26 and continues to make amazing music. With her constant charity events, she is an inspirational figure to any teenager and is certainly not one of those people who's going to be found in prison for a DUI.
The best part about Taylor's concerts is that she always loves to talk to her fans between songs, giving them advice and making them feel more confident in themselves. When you're at her concert, it's pretty magical. She connects with the fans, which is a huge skill, and you can tell she really does appreciate them.
In the "1989 Tour Video," she gives commentary about all of her songs in an interview setting before she performs them. It gives us more insight about her intentions behind each song, and it's so awesome to learn her sources of inspiration. She opens herself up to the audience, tells them about her heart breaks and issues that all of us have. She's just like us.
She also never lip syncs, which is an accomplishment in itself. She performs a two hour show by herself and with her raw voice. In addition, she always has different outfits and is constantly dancing. Props to Taylor.
Her idea of bringing special guests for "1989" was to show the crowd something different every time, which is really innovative. It also shows how much all of these celebrities love her and love what they do.
I could not think of a more inspirational figure than Taylor Swift. I grew up listening to her music, and despite its evolution, it has always spoken to me. Whether I was happy about getting into college, sad about a boy, or just driving in the car jamming out to her new singles from "1989," she was constantly there for me. What's better than that?
I highly suggest watching the tour, even if you're not a huge fan. It demonstrates how much of herself she puts into her concerts and how hard she works for her career. So thank you for being awesome, Taylor. We love you.
