Why Taylor Swift Should Be Our Next President

Honestly, there is nothing this woman can't do.

Why Taylor Swift Should Be Our Next President

With the primary elections underway, the pressure is on for all Americans to do their civic duty and participate by voting in the 2016 presidential race. There are good candidates… and some not so good ones. With every other conversation right now having to do with one contender or another, it can be pretty overwhelming. So how about I make things really simple for you and introduce an entirely new candidate? Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Taylor Swift.

OK, so she’s not actually running, but could you imagine if she was? That would make all of our choices a lot easier. Here’s why.

She knows how to handle a feud in the classiest of ways

Taylor has had her fair share of debates between her celebrity peers and colleagues. No one can forget her ultimate Twitter throw-downs with Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj and her on-again-off-again beefs with Kanye. Through it all she has held her own with nothing but the utmost class and respect. As president, she would do the same. No trash talk or rude comments that could potentially spark tensions between the U.S. and another country. Plus, she’d probably bring fresh baked cookies to all the conferences and international visits she’d attend.

She’s great at making allies

Taylor Swift’s friendship-making skills are magical. She’s constantly adding peers and colleagues from the entertainment world to her circle of friends, and if she was president I’m sure it would be no different. It’s pretty hard to resist her bubbly personality and big heart. Political figureheads from across the globe would be lining up to form alliances with the U.S. World peace would be a cinch in no time. Honestly, who wouldn’t want to be a part of her #squad?

The first man would be gorgeous

This is non-debatable. Calvin Harris would be the sexiest first spouse to ever live on Pennsylvania Ave. Just think of the smoking hot family portraits that would line the halls of the White House. Celebrities and the president are already two of the most paparazzi-flocked professions, so Taylor and Calvin would already be well accustomed to the constant flashing cameras and never getting a moment's peace.

She’d be even more of a role model than she already is

Just being a platinum-selling, sold-out touring artist is enough to have thousands of girls around the world dreaming of being in her shoes someday. But imagine if Taylor Swift was the president too. She’s already a lead spokeswoman for female empowerment. She’d be the first female president and an even bigger inspiration to girls everywhere.

So while the rest of the nation continues to bicker over Trump, Clinton, Sanders and the other candidates this election season, I’ll sit back and cast a ballot for #TS2016.

Disclaimer: As great as Taylor Swift is, I do not actually want her to be president. That would most likely be the end of her musical career, and no one wants that. #Feelinthebern

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"

While this question trend can get annoying, there are a couple of pros to having RBF.

Yify

Another day, another Elle Woods comment. Can’t us blondes get through the day without someone harping at us over the typical stereotypes about who we are? I never understood why a person was judged based upon the hair color they were born with, or the hair color they choose to have (unless you dye your hair blue like Kylie Jenner, I’m still trying to understand why that’s a trend). Nevertheless, as it should be assumed, not everyone is the same. Not all blondes like bright colors and Lilly Pulitzer, and not all blondes claim to identify with Marilyn Monroe. I think the best suggestion to give to people before they make such radical claims is to stop judging a book by its cover. Or in this case, stop judging a blonde by her hair color.
