The Stages Of Packing Up Your Dorm Room

It's that time of year again...

The Stages Of Packing Up Your Dorm Room

Now that finals are winding down for most people, it’s time to move out. And that means it’s time to pack up the room you’ve lived in for the last year. Packing theoretically shouldn’t take too long, but it always feels like it takes ages. At least, that’s how I feel every time I have to pack. Without further ado, I present the stages of packing your room.

Think about starting

This stage usually happens when you’re trying to find ways to procrastinate on studying for finals, maybe a week or so before you’re supposed to be leaving. But then you realize that packing is just too much work for right now and settle on watching Netflix for a little while.

Put off packing

At this point you’re either mostly done with finals and finally have time to pack or you’re still stressing about panicking and don’t even want to think about packing. Regardless of which boat you’re in, packing is not high up on your list of things to do right now.

Stuff things in bags

So, you managed to procrastinate on this too. And it’s now the absolute last second and you’re trying to shove things in bags as quickly as possible. You’re also doing your best not to strip paint off the wall when you pull down your posters and pictures and finding somewhere to put them without ruining them. It may not be the prettiest packing job ever, but at least you’re almost done!

Pack the car

This is the hardest part of packing. It’s like playing a game of suitcase Tetris. Not to mention the mini-fridge and television you’re also trying to fit into the car. It seems impossible to make everything fit, but eventually it’s all in and you’re only mildly squished in the front seat. As long as you’re super careful about opening the doors later, everything should make it home safely.

Unpack the car

Now, this is probably the second worst out of all of the stages, being only a little bit less frustrating than packing the car. Similar to the game of Tetris you played when you packed the car, now you have to figure out what you can pull out without breaking everything.

On the plus side, packing up your room means that you can sleep in your own bed again and enjoy the comforts of home. Take advantage of it while you can because break always seems to fly by. Soon enough you’ll have to pack up again and lug everything all the way back to campus.

Epic Creation Myths: Norse Origins Unveiled

What happened in the beginning, and how the heavens were set in motion.

The Norse Creation Myth

Now, I have the everlasting joy of explaining the Norse creation myth. To be honest, it can be a bit kooky, so talking about it is always fun. The entire cosmos is included in this creation myth, not just the earth but the sun and the moon as well. This will be a short retelling, a summary of the creation myth, somewhat like I did with Hermod's ride to Hel.

8tracks radio

We all scroll through the radio stations in the car every once in a while, whether its because we lost signal to our favorite one or we are just bored with the same ol' songs every day. You know when you're going through and you hear a song where you're just like "I forgot this existed!" and before you know it, you're singing every word? Yeah, me too. Like, 95% of the time. If you're like me and LOVE some good throwback music, here's a list of songs from every genre that have gotten lost in time, but never truly forgotten.

beer on the beach

Summer is hot and humid, and it's almost like summer was made specifically to drink the refreshing, cold, crisp wonderful, delicious, nutritious nectar of the gods. Which is none other than beer; wonderful cold beer. With summer playing peek-a-boo around the corner while we finish up this semester, it's time to discuss the only important part of summer.
