The Spring Semester Struggle, As Told By 'RuPaul's Drag Race'
World of Wonder

Spring Semester of college seems to be the least-liked semester. It's the last semester of the year and most likely your last semester for your college career. It's crunch time after a lazy but rewarding winter break and the fresh start of a new and demanding semester. Luckily, the queens of "RuPaul's Drag Race" can relate to our stress.

When it's the last day of Winter Break and you realize Spring Semester starts tomorrow

Goodbye endless laziness, Hello productivity.

But thankfully the first week is only Syllabus Week

Just sit back, relax, and browse through your phone.

Some classes you know you're gonna ace

After vibing with the professor and syllabus, you can't wait to kick ass in this class

But when the syllabus demands too many tests, projects, and readings...

As if I don't have other classes and a life outside of school 🙄

Or counts Attendance/Participation as a major part of your grade...

Something my introverted, lazy and dumb ass can't do to save my life

Or just can't fit into your daily schedule...

How can I focus in class when I'm tired AF from everything else?!

You gotta drop that class ASAP.

It was probably for the better

Syllabus Week over. Class has officially started.

Back to tiring lectures and note-taking. I think brain shrank over the break.

Before you know it, you already have your first exam.

What did we learn in so little time???

But you wouldn't know since you stopped looking at the syllabus.

Every day is just a surprise now!

You're still killin' it this semester with your looks...

Your make your school your runway

...until you give up halfway through the semester

Just wear anything you grab: sweats, pajamas, week old hoodies - that's fashion, right?

When you try your best to sacrifice time to school work.

"You can have your fun when you got a 4.0 GPA!"

But the semester is getting to you and you need a break.

WHEN THE HELL IS SPRING BREAK BECAUSE I NEED IT NOW

THEN COMES ALONG SPRING BREAK

COME ON, SPRING BREAK! LET'S GET SICKENING!!!!!

And before you know it, you're back to school

And weeks closer to finals

You know you're totally unprepared for finals,

So you didn’t do some of the homework or readings, skipped some classes, got a few bad grades on exams, and don’t even participate

But failure is not an option for you!

Because no way in hell you're gonna lose your financial aid!

So it's time to hit the books.

Living at the library and hitting the books all day every day

But after 3 all-nighters you start reconsidering everything.

A GPA is just arbitrary numbers, right?

However, you take finals with all seriousness,

The pressure's on with a LOT at stake

and in the end, you finish your exams

At this point, you don't care what your final grade is but THANK GOD YOU'RE DONE

ConDRAGulations! You made it through another year!

Sashay away to the next school year

(Unless you're a graduating senior, then it's time to officially be an adult)

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
