On April 30th, I will be competing in my first Special Olympic Golf Tournament at Woodberry Forest School in Orange County, Virginia. I am playing in a 9 hole alternate shot with my partner. The greens should be good after all of the rain that we got this last weekend. I feel confident in my playing skills and I think I am going to do well in the tournament. I hope that the greens are not fast and I hope that there is no chance of any type of bad weather
In the upcoming Special Olympic Golf Tournament, I will try my best to score below a 10, which is the max score on a golf course for Special Olympics. The alternate shot consists of one athlete who has an intellectual disability and one unified partner without an intellectual disability. For example, a player will hit the ball on even tees and the other partner will hit the golf ball on the odd holes. If I hit the ball on even tees, then my partner would hit the golf ball on the second shot.
So far, I have done Special Olympics for about 4 years and am looking forward to playing at Woodberry Forest on Sunday. The weather is showing a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mostly sunny with a high near 87. The chance of precipitation is 30%.
