The Southern States Bucket List

There's no better word in the South than "summer," so pack up those cowboy boots and flip flops, and let's go on a road trip!

The South is so beautiful and has many sights to see. These are just a few of the things you don't want to miss out on this summer!

Sunset Rock in Chattanooga, Tennessee

There's no better place to watch the sunset than on Lookout Mountain!

Jack Daniel's Distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee

After you watch the sunset in Chattanooga, head towards Lynchburg for a FREE tour of the famous Jack Daniel's Distillery! If you're of age, you can pay a small fee for a tasting tour!

Drive along the Natchez Trace Parkway through Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi

Stop and see the famous bridge near Franklin, or hit up the Tupelo National Battlefield. There are miles of beautiful hiking trails to explore and plenty of great camping spots to hang out at, too!

Savannah's landmark Historic District in Savannah, Georgia

There are plenty of self-guided walking, biking and driving tours in this historic city, plus many places to explore and things to do and see. You'll be occupied for hours!

Six Flags in Atlanta Georgia or St. Louis Missouri

Get your rush of adrenaline at these great theme parks! It's great for a group of friends or the family, because they have something for everyone!

Anheuser-Busch St. Louis Brewery tours in St. Louis, Missouri

Even if you aren't of legal drinking age, this place is definitely a sight to see! Don't forget to get your picture taken with some of the famous Budweiser Clydesdales!

Whitewater rafting on the Ocoee River in Tennessee

Talk about an adventure! If you haven't been, I highly suggest making the trip to check off your bucket list! It might be a little on the pricey side, but don't forget to try Groupon before you book your trip!

Blue Ridge Parkway in Asheville, North Carolina

The Blue Ridge Mountains are said to be some of the most beautiful in the world! There are plenty of hiking trails, canopy and zip lining tours and sights to see along these 469 miles of mountains. You want to make this drive! These are some waterfalls you'll want to go chasing.

Manatee snorkel tours in Crystal River, Florida

I had to put one in for my water-loving readers. Swim with the manatees or just simply check out the glass bottom boat tours in this beautiful area of the Sunshine State!

The Louisville Mega Cavern in Louisville, Kentucky

Check out the world's only fully underground zip-lining course, ride your bike underground or check out the world's only full underground ropes course! There's so much to do in these caverns!

Don't like these options? Make your own bucket list! There are miles of beaches, mountain ranges and rivers to be explored. Why are you just sitting around? Laying out and watching Netflix is great and all, but I guarantee you won't regret taking an unplanned road trip or two!

Grab your friends, pack your bags and go somewhere! Even if it's just within your city, adventure is out there. Don't let summer get away from you!

Epic Creation Myths: Norse Origins Unveiled

What happened in the beginning, and how the heavens were set in motion.

The Norse Creation Myth

Now, I have the everlasting joy of explaining the Norse creation myth. To be honest, it can be a bit kooky, so talking about it is always fun. The entire cosmos is included in this creation myth, not just the earth but the sun and the moon as well. This will be a short retelling, a summary of the creation myth, somewhat like I did with Hermod's ride to Hel.

8tracks radio

We all scroll through the radio stations in the car every once in a while, whether its because we lost signal to our favorite one or we are just bored with the same ol' songs every day. You know when you're going through and you hear a song where you're just like "I forgot this existed!" and before you know it, you're singing every word? Yeah, me too. Like, 95% of the time. If you're like me and LOVE some good throwback music, here's a list of songs from every genre that have gotten lost in time, but never truly forgotten.

beer on the beach

Summer is hot and humid, and it's almost like summer was made specifically to drink the refreshing, cold, crisp wonderful, delicious, nutritious nectar of the gods. Which is none other than beer; wonderful cold beer. With summer playing peek-a-boo around the corner while we finish up this semester, it's time to discuss the only important part of summer.
