20 Things To Know About Dating A Feisty Woman

Like the queen of feisty women herself Leslie Knope, we all know the struggle of finding our own perfect Ben Wyatt. But to my sassy sisters out there, don't forget we have a lot to offer! Guys, if you are reading this, here are some perks and things you should know when considering dating a feisty woman (written with the assistance of my own "Ben").

1. You rarely have to come up with date plans, because we almost always know what we want to do, and aren’t afraid to say it.

2. We don’t really do long held-out grudges or the silent treatment, mainly because we don’t have the time. Or the attention span.

3. If we don’t like something you’re doing, we will let you know.

On the contrary, if you do something good, we’ll show you the love for days on end!

4. Presents are always easy, because we will not-so-subtly hint with texts of pictures of exactly what we want.

5. Guaranteed to make you laugh, even if it’s unintentional!

6. You never have to worry about us making you pay for everything, because we are strong independent women who don’t need no man (but we like to let you grab the check, now and then, anyways).

7. Don’t get mad at us when we flip out over seemingly stupid things.

We pretty much just get worked up about anything, don’t take it personally.8. You never know what we’ll do next -- and we mean never (most of the time we don’t even know).

9. Always down for Netflix, or mountain hiking, or walking around Target and spontaneously grabbing clothes off the racks.

We’re up for anything!

10. Next to your mother, we’re the person most likely to fold the pile of clothes in your chair just because it’s bothering us.

11. We always believe that you can achieve your goals, and that if we just talk loudly enough about them for a while while you’re in earshot, you will eventually make them happen.

12. We are not self-conscious; we will go for that fourth slice of pizza, so go ahead and order the large.

13. Trying new things is a blast for us, so get prepared to take dance classes, try endless Pinterest recipes, and watch weird documentaries on Netflix.

14. If we take a class, read an article or get involved with something we’re passionate about, you can bet you’re going to hear about it for days on end.

15. We will let you know when we really need you to be there for us.

16. If we ask you to do something for us, and you do it right, you have pretty much just won our heart (at least until we ask you about the next thing).

17. We do our best to listen, even if it doesn’t always seem like it.

18. Don’t count on us to sit still, unless it’s at church.

Even then, we’re probably fidgeting, creating a mental to-do list, or counting the number of times the pastor says “like.” (this gif is unrelated, I just love it!)

19. Dating us will always be an equal partnership, so be prepared to have someone always stand beside you through thick and thin.

20. There’s no kind of love like the feisty kind.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
