The time has come to pack up all of our stuff and move back home for the summer. The hardest part about that isn't leaving our tiny college rooms, it's leaving your best friends. The friends that you meet in college are truly one of a kind and will be friends for life. Even though we're only leaving them for three months, it still seems like an eternity. There are hundreds of reasons why leaving your friends to work, work, work over the summer isn't a fun time, but these 11 really hit home.
You don't know what to do with yourself after you say goodbye to someone that you spend almost every waking second with
...even if you're just sitting around doing nothing.
Your hometown friends don't understand all of the inside jokes or what it's like to go to your college
...and frankly they just don't understand you anymore.
Sometimes FaceTime is just not the same as both squeezing into a twin XL bed
When you do go to their hometown to visit, the visit is never long enough
Watching your favorite Netflix binge show without them feels like you're cheating on them
Not being able to have a sleepover whenever you want to feels like a crime
You have to wait three whole months to take random selfies together
It's no longer acceptable to order pizza at 1 in the morning
You have to decide who gets to take home items that you both share
Having to start explaining yourself instead of being able to communicate with your bestie with just a single look
Now you have to start counting down the days until you two will be reunited
