Stranger Things TV

By the time you read this, season 2 of "Stranger Things" will have been out for over a week.

If you haven’t binged watched by now, then you need to do so ASAP, friend. I understand if you’ve been busy. You’re probably more responsible than I am when it comes to prioritizing.

Still, since I’m a great friend who wants what’s best for you, I’m gonna provide you with 17 reasons that will push you to watch this season as soon as you’re done reading this.

1. You’ve already watched season 1!

There’s no going back. You started this journey a year ago, it’s your destiny to finish it. (Too dramatic of a start? No? OK, cool.)

2. New score!

Mhm, composers Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein are back with a bunch of new tunes that hyphen the tone of the show. Once you hear their synths, you'll instantly be transported back into the world of Hawkins.

3. There are 9 episodes!

Your binge-watching has now been extended by almost an hour! Huzzah!

4. Steve Harrington.

If Steve Harrington didn’t win you over by the end of season 1, then get ready to give your heart up to him this season. He’s definitely going to become one of your favorites.

5. Barb.

If you still want justice for Barb, you’ll get it this season. Kind of.

6. Noah Schnapp.

Noah Schnapp as Will Byers will absolutely blow you away this season. You’ll walk away thinking, “Wow, that kid deserves an Emmy!”

7. New characters.

Bob, Max, and Billy, oh my! There are newbies this season and they’ll make you feel all sorts of emotions.

8. Unlikely friendships.

When the world seems like it’s coming to an end, sometimes you bond with a person who you were at least good acquittances with. If you watch season 2, you’ll see all sorts of groupings that you didn’t know you wanted. Or needed.

9. “You haven’t watched Season 2 yet?!”

I’m obviously guilty of asking this and I’m not the only one. You better get watching before it changes back to “You haven’t watched Game of Thrones yet?!”

10. A reason to ignore your responsibilities.

Remember when I said I want what’s best for you? Well, I was serious about that. Ignoring your responsibilities in favor of watching this season is what’s best for you.

11. You’ll laugh.

We all like a good chuckle.

12. You’ll cry.

We all like a good cry.

13. You’ll scream.

Um, what else do you expect from a spooky show?

14. You might develop new fears...

Flickering lights won’t seem that scary anymore.

15. Everyone loves that 80s nostalgia!

Even if you totally weren’t born in the 80s.

16. The kiddos are growing up.

There’s something really cool about watching a series that shows the actors and their characters really growing up.

17. You can finish in about 9 hours!

And there’s 24 hours in a day, so what are you waiting for?!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
