5 Reasons Why The Holiday Season Is The Best Season

There is always a specific time of year that many people always cause excitement to many people. For some, it may be St.Patrick's Day or the Easter season, or even Thanksgiving. For me, I just love the holidays around winter break. There is something about that season that brings out the jolly spirit in me. That is why I have to share 5 reasons why the holiday season is the best season.

1. Students are on Winter Break!

After a long semester of test, drama, more test, and dealing with professors, we are finally on winter break. This is the time of the entire year where we get to go shopping and get the gifts that we’ve been saving up for all year. You get to see your family members, friends from back home, and plan plenty of outings with them. Winter break is also a time of relaxation and contemplation and festive music. Overall, winter break is the time where we get to slow down and enjoy the atmosphere around us.

2. There are plenty of deals!

I am obsessed with deals. All my favorite stores, especially Charlotte Ruse have the best holiday deals ever. It all starts during Black Friday. Black Friday is the tip of the iceberg for holiday shopping. However, everything after that day gets better. Although, my shopping was done during Black Friday, I was still able to find many deals when tagging along with my sister to the mall. Sugarloaf Mall had many Christmas sales at most of the shops. I found out Bath and Body Works was having a buy 3 Get 2 free special. If you love that cute little store as much as I do, I am going to leave this little shopping gem here.

3.This is a generous time!

If you haven’t met a nice person before holiday season, you will now. The season changes the mood of people. I feel as though this is the time that people make holiday resolutions that go into the next year. However, I understand why people are a lot kinder during this time of year. All year long, many people go through some serious situations/issues and the holidays allow for people to reflect upon that and think about more important things

4. The decorations are amazing!

I have never really looked at holiday decorations as much as I have this year. People have been pulling out all the stops for this year. I know in my home we always have a theme. Even though this year it was pulled together at the last minute, my brother primarily could pull together a blue Christmas. The tree is the centerpiece of it all. There are ribbons around the tree and lights and things that make it look like ice. Although I was hoping for something simple, it was still great that we could have some festive spirit during this time. The festive spirit didn’t stop with us, our neighborhood is like a light show. Many of the houses decided to buy these lights that would make it appears snow is falling onto their houses or show cartoon reindeer. Let us just say that we are not the only house that is in love with the holiday season.

5. Christmas is here!

After waiting all year for the best holiday to roll around it is finally here! Christmas makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. It also allows for me time to go celebrate with my church during this season. I love hearing the message from the pastor and the hymnals that my choir will be singing. Christmas is an amazing time for fellowship. This specific holiday allows for much-needed reflection and the excuse for playing all the Christmas CDs, especially a Frank Sinatra CD it is the best. Have an amazing Christmas and cheers all around!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
