9 Stages Of Picking Your Halloween Costume

Halloween is so much fun. For one weekend of the year, you get to dress up and pretend to be anyone of your choosing. But choosing who or what you are going to be is most stressful part of the holiday. Being indecisive on what to be is a challenge. There are an unlimited number of options. Choosing is impossible. Next is the big question of what and who you are hanging out with. Are you dressing up with friends or a significant other? Or are you flying solo? Wondering if you should do a group or couple costume? Your friends are into a cute a group matching costume, but you thought of the best solo costume and don’t know how to break it to them.

There are two types of people in this world: the people who buy and plan out their Halloween costume weeks in advance and the people who look in their closet the night of Halloween and go with the DIY style (aka me). Either way, getting a Halloween costume together is exciting because whether you’re going to a party or chilling with friends, it’s always a memorable night (or weekend in some cases). You can be creative with Halloween without spending the extra cash; Pinterest is a lifesaver for these kinds of situations. Borrowing parts of your costume from everybody you know is always an option too. Remember that comfort is everything. Looking cute is one thing, but you will have to be stuck in that costume for a duration of time so dress appropriately, especially if it's cold outside. Halloween isn't meant to be stressful; it's meant to be a fun time. Don't let the pressure of dressing a certain way impact your decision. Just be you.

1. Your closet is lying to you.

2. Most people try to be someone they aren't on Halloween.

3. Trying on a gazillion outfits.

4. Nobody got time for an expensive costume.

5. Being stressed out over an outfit for ONE NIGHT.

6. Borrowing parts of your costume from everybody you know.

7. Giving up and wearing the same costume that you wore last year.

8. When you tell people what you're going to be and they don't get it.

9. Deciding to go with your best friend.

Happy Halloween!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
