Black Lives Matter

On the 6th of July, 2016, two black men were shot by the police. They were Alton Sterling and Philando Castile. Let's look into these cases.

In the case of Alton Sterling, he was shot for carry a gun. Oddly, Louisiana, where the incident occurred, is one of the state that permits open carry policy. In the police defense, it was always hinted that the open carry permits only apply to white people and police, because reasons. And the officers that involved in this incident admitted that they found their action "justified," perhaps because this man posed a threat while being beaten and submitted. He didn't reach for his gun but he might, especially when his hands were in front blocking the tackles and punches, as depicted in the video...because that is one of black peoples supernatural ability: reaching for guns even when their hands are in no way capable of doing so, at least according to the logical thoughts of many police apologist.

Coincidentally, Philando Castile was also killed for carrying a gun. He had a carry permits and the state also allows open carry. The difference between his case and that of Alton Sterling was that he told the officer that he had his gun on him. Alton Sterling didn't, probably because he was busy defending himself from the punches-- but it was still his fault, right? Philando Castile, did what he was told, informed the officer about his gun. Yet, he was still shot. What is the appropriate excuse this time? Purely bad luck? Maybe the officer had a bad day and he just happened to be there, being black and all...

Dear police apologist, #alllivesmatter people, and those in denial of constructed racism and police brutality, that how you sound. #BlackLivesMatter.

Epic Creation Myths: Norse Origins Unveiled

What happened in the beginning, and how the heavens were set in motion.

The Norse Creation Myth

Now, I have the everlasting joy of explaining the Norse creation myth. To be honest, it can be a bit kooky, so talking about it is always fun. The entire cosmos is included in this creation myth, not just the earth but the sun and the moon as well. This will be a short retelling, a summary of the creation myth, somewhat like I did with Hermod's ride to Hel.

Summer is hot and humid, and it's almost like summer was made specifically to drink the refreshing, cold, crisp wonderful, delicious, nutritious nectar of the gods. Which is none other than beer; wonderful cold beer. With summer playing peek-a-boo around the corner while we finish up this semester, it's time to discuss the only important part of summer.
