The Orange
By Michael McCarrick
The shell of the orange shows a foundation,
A clean simple image.
With a slice of a knife juices begin to squirt from inside
And the evisceration begins.
The body is crushed and juices flow out,
Peeling the skin and revealing softness underneath,
Split the organs apart as more juice drips and drips,
Take off the brain, spit out seeds,
And devour the parts one by one.
