If you’re trying to find the best language to take for a language requirement or just want to learn a new language, take French! It’s an amazing language that is spoken worldwide. Here are some reasons why you should learn French.

1. French will help you get a job

The French have definitely spread their language and culture throughout the world, as French is one of the most commonly taught languages in the world, second, after English. Nowadays, the world has become so small – within a few hours, you could be in a different country. European students learn anywhere from two-five different languages throughout their school career while American students are lucky to be at a beginner’s level or proficient in one or two languages.

Businesses want prospective employees to know other languages, so that they can travel and communicate with others around the world with ease. Therefore, if you’re planning on working for a large corporation or a global brand, then knowing a foreign language will greatly benefit your resume.

2. French is the official language in many countries and organizations

Planning on traveling around the world? French is the official language in 29 countries and an unofficial language in a handful of other countries. French is also one of the official languages in international organizations, due to its prevalence in the globe, including the United Nations, and Interpol. Therefore, if you are traveling or planning to do social work or work in an international organization, learning French is ideal.

3. Planning a trip to Canada or French-speaking parts of the United States? French Will Help

Want to go to Canada for spring break to legally drink before being 21? Or in the mood for some great maple syrup? French will be pretty handy, as it is one of the largest French-speaking countries in the world. The province of Quebec particularly is mostly French-speaking and while English is widely known, it is so much easier to communicate in the native language of French in order to communicate with locals to get directions and easily order food.

French is also spoken in some parts of the U.S., such as Louisiana and the New England states, so you do not even need to leave the country to speak French.

4. It’s a romantic language

Unlike some languages that are harsh-sounding or have sharp tones, French is one of the most appealing languages to the ear. Even if you were criticizing or cursing in French, it still sounds pretty. Plus, since it’s a romance language, it is easier for you to pick up a few words or actually learn other romance languages, such as Spanish and Italian.

Epic Creation Myths: Norse Origins Unveiled

What happened in the beginning, and how the heavens were set in motion.

The Norse Creation Myth

Now, I have the everlasting joy of explaining the Norse creation myth. To be honest, it can be a bit kooky, so talking about it is always fun. The entire cosmos is included in this creation myth, not just the earth but the sun and the moon as well. This will be a short retelling, a summary of the creation myth, somewhat like I did with Hermod's ride to Hel.
