An Open Thank You Letter To My Boyfriend

My Love,

I honestly can’t put into words what you mean to me. You help make every day a little bit easier just by letting me know that I’ll always have you to come and talk to. Whether it’s about a particular issue, or just about a cute dog I saw, I know that you’ll always be equally sympathetic or excited along with me. It’s honestly so comforting to know that I have someone to feel my pain as well as to celebrate my joy with. I never thought that I’d be one of those girls to have someone as great as you.

Thank you for proving that relationships can be both sided and that there really are some gentlemen out there in the world. I'm unable to thank you enough for the amount of comfort that it gives me to even just be in a room with you. It makes me feel safe and loved, which is a feeling that I've never experienced outside of my family. Thank you for showing me that believing in love and being in love are things to be embraced, not discarded.

Thank you for having such an amazing character. Honestly, you surprise me every day with how selfless you are. It truly leaves me speechless sometimes. I always find you right beside me whenever I need anything. You always go in front of me to make sure that I never open a door and I believe that I have ownership of every warm article of clothing that you’ve ever had because you never want me to be cold. Thank you for making me feel like the most special human being on the planet.

Thank you so much for compromising with me all of the time. I know that it normally ends in my way and, while I'm not exactly sorry about that, I appreciate you for putting up with it. I know that I’m extremely independent at times and I thank you for not giving me issues when I go off and do my own thing. I’m so extremely lucky to have someone as understanding as you, especially with my short temper. You always know how to calm me down instantly and make me laugh, even though it’s a bit of a chore. Thank you for watching out for me day in and day out and for being my best friend.

Lastly, thank you for loving my family and friends as your own. You are always attentive to every story that I tell and excited at every family occasion that I drag you to (well, not really drag, you always beg to come). Thank you for being the son that my mother had always hoped for and for being a good sport while my dad decided if he liked you or not.

There is so much that you do for me on a daily basis and I know that I’m not always deserving of it, but you continue anyways. I’m so thankful for all the time that we’ve had together and I can’t wait for so much more. I love you.

All Yours,

Your Loving Girlfriend

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
