Family doesn't end in blood.
We all have at least one friend who we consider family. They are practically your brother or sister. Maybe you met them when you were younger or sometimes online. Either way, they are amazing people who have supported you and made you laugh when you wanted to cry. They know everything about you whether you wanted them to or not.
These friends are the ones that message you that they are in your driveway asking if they can come over. The ones who walk into your house and feel like they are home. Your parents are their second parents and vice versa. They are your partner in crime. The friend who thinks your plan isn't the greatest and still wants to carry it out with you. Your family knows them very well.
How about the online friends that maybe you came to know through video games or social media? Sometimes they are the ones who know you better than your friends that you see every day and have known for years. Just because you don't see them every day doesn't mean they don't care about you. They are the ones who want to save money just to come and visit you. They think your state or country is the coolest thing on the planet. They never leave you alone either. They will contact you all day long just to make sure you are okay.
You are the person I go to when I am dealing with a lot of stuff. You are my person. You know what I like to drink at certain restaurants and are not afraid to create plans just to escape your boredom. You're the person I share a large pizza with at midnight. Maybe you and I stay up till 3 a.m. to talk about a show we binged watched on Netflix for the past week.
You're the person who my parents take on trips with. They bring you with them to pick me up from somewhere. You are the person who everyone asks where I am at if I miss class since I am always with you.
The friends that are your second family are special. They bring you up. Life would be different without these people.
Thank you to the family that isn't blood and know we love you.
