Every OU student knows finding your coffee shop is very important. Whether it be tucked away on campus corner or in the midst of Main street, there's so many to choose from.
Disclaimer: I am not a professional coffee taster. I love a good sugary mocha and a neat coffee shop, but I have no actual knowledge of what constitutes as good coffee.
For the hipster:![](data:image/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns='http://www.w3.org/2000/svg'%20viewBox='0%200%20564%20564'%3E%3C/svg%3E)
Located on Gray street (ironic right?), Gray Owl is home to mismatched furniture, Bon Iver playlists, and some awesome coffee. The atmosphere is perfect for writing in your leather-bound journal while donning a flannel and beanie. But even if you're not the hipster type, Gray Owl is an awesome space for studying or catching up with friends.
For the couple:
Crimson and Whipped Cream is home to some delicious coffee, but more importantly, some delicious desserts. Conveniently located next to Victoria's Pasta Shop, Crimson and Whipped Cream is the perfect place to close out your date night. They have an assortment of board games and a fun photo booth in the back to commemorate your visit!
For those who need a quick fix:
Maybe you woke up late, or you didn't sleep well last night, or maybe it's an 11 A.M. game day and you're just trying to make it to kick-off. Whatever your case may be, Starbucks is always there for you. With several locations around campus, you are never more than five minutes from a caffeine boost. If you're in a rush and just need a quick (and a bit expensive) fix.
For the community seeker:
Nestled in the heart of Campus Corner, Second Wind Coffee House is the perfect place for a community vibe. Second Wind hosts several open mic nights, poetry slams, and local bands to give it's patrons a feel of the local community. It's run by a nearby church and their menu is pay-what-you-can which is awesome for broke college students. They have a lot of regulars and everyone is super friendly, which makes it the perfect place to meet some new people and get plugged into the local art.
For the study abroad nuts:
If you just came back from a semester in Italy, and you can't stop talking about how "the coffee in Italy is just so much better," pop into Michelangelo's Coffee on Main street. Rumor is their coffee and wine selection is comparable to those in Italy. Even if you haven't had the chance to travel abroad, they offer a great selection of snacks and they often feature local musicians.
For the do-gooder:
The Screen Door on Main street is the perfect place for the philanthropist at heart. The Screen Door highlights a different local charity every week and gives part of their profits to said charity. The Screen Door also gives a 20% discount to students, teachers, military, and seniors. This coffee shop is a wonderful blend of study spots while still being the perfect place to catch lunch with friends!
