I am not perfect.
I talk too loud and snort when I laugh. I have some crooked teeth and an awkward body. I don't make straight A's in school and I have a lazy eye. I am not the thinnest, or the prettiest, or the smartest. I am flawed beyond measure like everyone else, yet society is still full of the idea of "perfect" people.
I struggle with wanting to be everything. Fit. Pretty. Smart. Stable. Organized, Inspiring, Social, etc. But that's just the problem. I am not perfect, and I cannot be everything.
I can only be me, and that's okay.
It can be so intimidating to walk a mile even in your own shoes today's society. There's this construct of what we all should be, but this idea is highly unobtainable because we are all uniquely different people with different passions and capabilities.
If we were all perfect, life would be boring.
These people we allow ourselves to believe are perfect really aren't. Perfection is a one-way mirror. We see what we want to see in others, yet we all have our struggles on the inside. One person's 'perfect' is another person's 'I can do better'. We can't compare our beginnings and middles to someone else's middle and end.
The only perfect we can be is to be our best self, and honestly - that should be enough.
Do what you're capable of and do what makes you happy, and soon you'll see that your best you is perfect enough.
