Here is a list of five major events that occurred in the U.S. and around the world last week you may have missed. Warning: It’s not all about the presidential election.

1. WikiLeaks founder is cut off

Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks, a media organization that specializes in sensitive documents, has been denied Internet access by the Ecuadorian government, according to a BBC report. Assange was granted asylum in Ecuador’s London embassy in 2012 and has been there for the past four years.

The Ecuadorian government announced last Tuesday that Assange’s Internet access was temporarily cut off because the Ecuadorian government did not support intervention in the American electoral process.

2. Saudi Arabia executed their prince

Prince Turki bin Saud bin Turki bin Saud Al-Kabeer was executed in Saudi Arabia Tuesday, Oct. 18 for murdering a Saudi national, according to the county’s Ministry of Interior. The prince’s execution was a result of a royal order after Saudi Arabia’s General Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court all found him guilty of the crime.

3. Final Presidential Debate

The third and final presidential debate took place Wednesday, Oct. 19. Of course, different news agencies put together a variety of information on why which candidates won on which issues.

NPR put together a particularly interesting segment where four Florida residents, two voting for Clinton and two voting for Trump, were questioned before and after the debate. The story has a print and audio component.

4. A U.S. military member died in Iraq

This was the first American causality since Kurdish peshmerga fighters began fighting the Islamic military state ISIS in Mosul Monday, Oct. 17. The American soldier was killed by a roadside bomb while traveling in an armored vehicle, according to a report from The Washington Post.

He is the fourth U.S. military member to die in combat in Iraq since the U.S. began fighting the Islamic state in August 2014.

5. The Cubs are in the World Series

The Chicago Cubs will be in the World Series for the first time since 1945 after defeating the L.A. Dodgers 5-0 on Saturday, Oct. 22. The Cubs are scheduled to play the Cleveland Indians Tuesday, Oct. 25.

The Cubs have gone the longest without being in the championship compared to other teams in the National League. The last time they won the World Series was in 1908. Some fans attribute the team’s bad luck to what is known as ‘the Billy Goat curse.’

Epic Creation Myths: Norse Origins Unveiled

What happened in the beginning, and how the heavens were set in motion.

The Norse Creation Myth

Now, I have the everlasting joy of explaining the Norse creation myth. To be honest, it can be a bit kooky, so talking about it is always fun. The entire cosmos is included in this creation myth, not just the earth but the sun and the moon as well. This will be a short retelling, a summary of the creation myth, somewhat like I did with Hermod's ride to Hel.
