My House And Dorm Were Haunted And I Haven't Slept The Same Since

Handprints and voices and apparitions, OH MY!

My House And Dorm Were Haunted And I Haven't Slept The Same Since
Ivy League Lifestyle

I'm one of those people who believes in ghosts and also that person that claims that their house is slightly haunted. It all started back in high school. Handprints on the bathroom towels, hearing my dad yell when nobody was even home, hearing my shower turn on in the middle of the night...all very strange unexplainable things. There was an incidence that happened twice in the span of two weeks during my teen years. I shower with my door shut and my radio on and I remember specifically that "Firework" by Katy Perry was playing and I had just gotten out of the shower when I saw my door was open. I went to my parents' room to ask if they opened it and they said they didn't and it was probably the wind that blew it up and that maybe I didn't close it all the way. I thought that could be possible so I didn't think about it. A week later I was getting out of the shower, "Firework" is playing again and I see my door is open and I freaked out and asked my parents if they opened they opened it and they said no. I still don't have an explanation for any of that except maybe this ghost likes Katy Perry and opening doors.

Another weird story was when I had just left my bathroom and shut off the light and went into my room to grab my laundry. I walked to the laundry room that's on the opposite side of my house and was sorting my clothes for about 10 minutes when my mom walked in and jumped with fright. I asked her why she was scared and she said, "didn't you just go in your bathroom" and I told her how I was in there and have been doing laundry for the past 10 minutes to which she replied, "I swear I just saw you walk from your room into your bathroom and was wondering why you didn't turn the light on". We both looked at each other and I don't think either of us wanted to sleep that night.

The rest of my high school years were pretty much ghost free until I got to college. I was in a brand new dorm building so I was the first person to sleep in my room. When my roommate and I had moved in we noticed these random black handprints on some of our walls and in her room there was even a foot print! We figured it was probably the construction workers who had accidentally left their prints. The ones in my room were too high for me to reach so I just left them there, but in my roommate's room she could reach them so she cleaned them off the wall. The next morning she woke up to find the handprint had reappeared and we both were freaking out. Our entire floor of our building knew we had these handprints on the walls so some even tried to bless the room with Fabreeze (LOL).

Another night, I was trying to sleep when I heard a knock on my door at 2am and I figured it was my roommate who couldn't sleep so I told her to come in, but nobody came in and nobody answered. I texted her and she didn't answer so I wound up sleeping with the lights on that night and in the morning she texted me back saying that she was sleeping and that definitely wasn't her knocking.

The craziest story from my dorm was when my roommate kept telling me that her TV would randomly type in channel 666 and the the screen would go fuzzy. I thought it was just her imagination and that maybe something was wrong with her TV. One day I was watching a movie with her in her room and out of the nowhere we the numbers 6-6-6 slowly popping up on the screen and the TV went fuzzy again. We both look at each other in disbelief and I asked where the remote was and the remote was next to the TV, which was nowhere near us.

I have so many more stories but that would just be a whole book at this point. None of these stories are fabricated and I still believe, to this day, that my house and dorm had ghosts in it. Luckily, I haven't experienced anything too weird since then. I love spooky stories so if you have any to share, please do!

Epic Creation Myths: Norse Origins Unveiled

What happened in the beginning, and how the heavens were set in motion.

The Norse Creation Myth

Now, I have the everlasting joy of explaining the Norse creation myth. To be honest, it can be a bit kooky, so talking about it is always fun. The entire cosmos is included in this creation myth, not just the earth but the sun and the moon as well. This will be a short retelling, a summary of the creation myth, somewhat like I did with Hermod's ride to Hel.

8tracks radio

We all scroll through the radio stations in the car every once in a while, whether its because we lost signal to our favorite one or we are just bored with the same ol' songs every day. You know when you're going through and you hear a song where you're just like "I forgot this existed!" and before you know it, you're singing every word? Yeah, me too. Like, 95% of the time. If you're like me and LOVE some good throwback music, here's a list of songs from every genre that have gotten lost in time, but never truly forgotten.

beer on the beach

Summer is hot and humid, and it's almost like summer was made specifically to drink the refreshing, cold, crisp wonderful, delicious, nutritious nectar of the gods. Which is none other than beer; wonderful cold beer. With summer playing peek-a-boo around the corner while we finish up this semester, it's time to discuss the only important part of summer.
