7 Reasons He's More Than A Dad, He's My Superhero

All dads are great, but my dad is basically a superhero.

With Father's Day coming up, I wanted to write a shout out to my dad to make sure he knows how awesome he is. My dad has three daughters, including myself. Raising girls is a challenge, but he handles it like a pro. He's always been a rock in my life, and I appreciate him so much. Here are just a couple of reasons why my dad is basically a superhero.

1. He is a guy that knows how to do hair!

My sisters lost their mother a few years back, and this left my dad to do all the girly things for them. For example, he learned how to do ponytails, pigtails and even some braids! #realman

2. He's full of dad humor.

Though his humor is sometimes corny, I still enjoy it just the same.

3. He's a hard worker, through and through.

My father is the type of guy who is willing to work for what he has. He doesn't expect any handouts or charity. He works hard and rough. Everything he has he bought himself and deserves.

4. He is a real protector.

Any time a boy/anyone has upset me, my dad has always been there ready to beat them up or just listen. He is always looking out for my best interests, and I love him for that.

5. He always makes sure I have everything I need.

Whether it be a helping hand, twenty bucks, or just someone to listen, he is always around. He has been there for me for my entire life. #bestdad

6. He tells me how it is, always.

Dad advice is the best advice. You might not think that way when you're young, but they know everything. They always want what's best for you.

7. He loves me unconditionally.

My dad is my champion. He has never left me to wonder if he cared. He takes care of me and loves me despite my many flaws and annoying qualities. I am one lucky daughter.

My dad is so awesome for so many more reasons than these. It takes a real man to be a father, and he has proven himself time and again. I love him forever, and I'll always be his girl. I hope this Father's Day is spent showing your father/man in your life how special they are. I love you dad! <3

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
