There's plenty of fantastic places to eat, so much to see, and tons of memories waiting for you in this magical Tennessee city.

1. Food

No-one will ever go hungry in Nashville. While barbecue is a large part of the city's cuisine don't be fooled, it by far isn't all that's offered.

The Row (Midtown)

Burgers, BBQ, sandwiches...something for everyone with live music!

Biscuit Love (Gulch)

Breakfast/Lunch with a delicious biscuit twist.

Acme (Broadway)

In the heart of all the honkey tonk action with three levels. Street level has chicken, burgers, and another bar eats while the second floor is sushi and the top is a great rooftop.

Pancake Pantry

You guessed it! The thing to get here is pancakes and especially on the weekends, you can guarantee a line.

Tavern

They have a bit of everything here from burgers to tacos and falafel. Their drink list is extensive and they have a cool vibe.

Loveless Cafe (Highway 100)

While it's a little drive out of downtown this place is worth the drive and the wait. Delicious home style cooking that will leave you full and certainly satisfied.

2. Must Do

There are certain things you just have to do and see while in Nashville. It's music city which means you better make time to brush up on your history and prepare to dust off your dancing shoes.

Country Music Hall of Fame (Downtown)

You can't miss the building with its unique architecture and inside it holds an incredible amount of country music history. It really is worth making time for even if museums and country music aren't necessarily your thing.

Ryman Auditorium (Downtown)

The Ryman was the home of the Opry for around 30 years before they moved to their current location. It was originally a church and is a really cool place to visit right off of Broadway.

Grand Ole Opry (Opryland)

One of the most popular stops in the city, the Opry is certainly a must see. Even if you can't get tickets to a show while you're in town, the backstage tour is absolutely wonderful. You get to see the artist entrance, dressing rooms and even step into the famous circle on stage.

Johnny Cash Museum (Downtown)

Right in the heart of downtown, it's a great tribute to a spectacular and timeless musician.

Nashville Zoo

No matter your age the zoo is a fun time and a nice excuse to get out of the city for the day. Its just a short drive away from downtown and has great exhibits one of which being the kangaroo exhibit where you can enter the enclosure and pet them.

Gaylord Hotel and Resort (Opryland)

Even if you're not a guest of the hotel it is worth a visit. Park in the nearby movie theater lot to bypass the parking fee and make time to pop in the see the beautiful gardens, water features, and ride the river boat. There are three separate garden spaces within the resort and they make for a really spectacular walk.

FGL House

One of the newest additions to the downtown scene, the duo Florida Georgia Line's bar is three stories with varying themes sure to guarantee a good time. They have live music and a DJ and while the drink is a little pricy it is definitely worth a stop.

Nashville Pedal Tavern

Perfect for your first night in town to get the lay of the land, on a peddle tavern ride you bring your own booze and peddle around the route of your choosing. If you pick downtown you stop at different bars and get to go in to enjoy the music and the drink discounts your wristband gets you. It's a great fun way to see Nashville and a must for first timers and locals alike. Luke Bryan has even taken a ride on one!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
