When we were in middle school, I had a hotel party for my birthday, and I invited a bunch of my friends, and Marissa was the only one who came, but we made the best of it and had a really fun night together, I will miss her so much. -Kelly Murphy

She was such an amazing girl. I met her my sophomore year; we had psychology together, along with her sister, Taylor, and they always made my day. She would make me cry from laughing so hard. Marissa was such a beautiful soul; I love her so much. - Stephanie Loveland

The first day I met you, I was having a really bad day, and you didn't know that; there was no way you could've known that. But, as soon as you smiled in my direction and introduced yourself, I felt better. There was such a positivity that surrounded you, no matter what you did, or what you were going through personally. The way you were just made people happy. I could understand why I had never heard anything negative about you, there was nothing negative to say. And even though we weren't close, you still congratulated me on Facebook on my engagement and my wedding day. You looked out for everyone; if they were happy, you were happy. It always amazed me how strong, happy, and confident you were. It was something I still aspire to be. Regardless of how close we were or weren't, you didn't deserve this. Everyone says you're finally back with your mom, which I guess in a way I'm glad to hear. I guess I just want you to know that you impacted a lot of people's lives in a good way, mine included. Rest in Paradise Marissa, and know you're loved. -Jasmine Pepoles

I remember when I met you in the band room my sophomore year; I couldn’t stop laughing. You were so funny and quirky, you would just randomly make the funniest faces. No matter what anyone says, one thing is for sure: you would do anything to see someone smile. You always tried to get others to see the good in themselves that you saw, no matter who the person was. I hope you know that you changed so many lives in the time that we all had with you. I hope you know just how special you are to everyone. When I heard about the accident, I couldn’t believe it. Any of it. I called your brother Eddie and a few others trying to figure out what happened, and if they were okay. No one else could believe that this had happened. A lot of people are still grieving, and that’s okay, because it means that they truly loved you. I’m still trying to figure out why something like this would happen to you, but I know I’ll never get my answer. Just do me a favor; keep watching down over all of us, and know that I and so many others will always be thinking of you. -Ashlee Reed

Another Angel taken way to soon; baby girl, you were always so full of energy and life! You were there for me through the worse time of my life, and I loved you like you were my own. You always knew how to bring a smile to my face when I needed it. I'm gonna miss you so much. I'm at lost for words; there's no amount of words that can describe how much you were loved by so many people! You're with Dominic now; watch over Lil Man. I love you so much and miss you more than words can describe! I Love You! -Leslie Cooper

Rest Easy Marissa, You will Always be in our hearts.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
