Living In Connecticut As A Uconn Huskies Fan

Have you ever wanted to have a professional sports team come to Connecticut. I know we used to have the Hartford Whalers for a long time but now they don't exist anymore. We have minor league baseball and a WNBA team at the Mohegan Sun Arena. Those teams in Connecticut don't point out to me as the teams to go watch. In my opinion the two teams to watch in Connecticut are the UCONN Men's and Women's Basketball teams. Since I was younger, I was always a fan of watching both of their games on TV and I thought wow these teams are both really special. At UCONN, they're are two main arenas that both teams will play on. There's one on-campus arena called the Gampel Pavillion which is the largest on-campus arena in New England. The other arena is at the XL Center which is in downtown Hartford and is not too far from UCONN main campus.

Both UCONN Men and UCONN Women's Basketball are well known for their basketball championships. When I was younger, for two weeks in the summer I went to Jim Calhoun Basketball Camp. I was able to stay on campus for both of the sessions of the camp. When I walked into Gampel Pavillion for the first time, I thought that it was so cool to see this place on the Uconn Campus. Inside the arena especially, I was shocked to see the amount of players and coaches from the teams. Jim Calhoun came to camp the first and last day of camp and he gave me a poster of himself with his signature on it and I thought that was pretty cool. In the gampel arena they have all the banners from the past championships that they've won and some of the best players to come out of the Huskies. Some examples to come out of the women teams are: Brianna Stewart, Morgan Tuck, Diana Taurasi, Sue Bird, Maya Moore, Tina Charles, Kalena Mosqueda Lewis and many others. Besides the women's success of 11 NCAA championships along with 17 final four appearances, they wouldn't have done without their coach Geno Auriemma. Auriemma is one of the top coaches in women's basketball. This past women's basketball season, Uconn was totally dominating teams. In the NCAA tournament, most of the games would be over by halftime.

The men's basketball team has also been very successful in the past. Led by head coach Kevin Ollie who took over for long term coach Jim Calhoun. The men's basketball teams head conference is the American Athletic Conference which is also the same conference as the women's team. The men's basketball has won four NCAA Tournament titles. They won the championships of the years of 1999, 2004, 2011, and 2014. Some of the big time players that have come from UCONN are: Center Andre Drummond, Ray Allen, Caron Butler, Ben Gordon, Emeka Okafor, Cliff Robinson, Richard Hamilton, Kemba Walker, Jeremy Lamb, Shabazz Napier, and Rudy Gay. My two favorite championship teams are the 2011 and 2014 teams. I still won't forget the year in 2011 when Kemba Walker hit the step back buzzer beater shot to give UCONN the win over Pittsburgh in the Big East Tournament.

Even though I don't go to UCONN as a college student, I'll always root for the Huskies sports especially their basketball teams. Hopefully they can both can continue winning championships in the future

Tamatoa created a liar filled with shiny things simply for the purpose of tricking fish to enter and become his food. He too experiences a lesson in how easy it is to be tricked by shiny things when Moana distracts him by covering herself in glowing algae so Maui can grab his hook.

Epic Creation Myths: Norse Origins Unveiled

What happened in the beginning, and how the heavens were set in motion.

The Norse Creation Myth

Now, I have the everlasting joy of explaining the Norse creation myth. To be honest, it can be a bit kooky, so talking about it is always fun. The entire cosmos is included in this creation myth, not just the earth but the sun and the moon as well. This will be a short retelling, a summary of the creation myth, somewhat like I did with Hermod's ride to Hel.
