A List of Bible Verses to Help Guide You Through Any Struggle

College students live their lives riding the most insane emotional roller coasters ever. That is why it is so important to try and stay strong in our faith. A good friend of mine always reminds me when I am having a problem to "Get in the Word" and that's where I will find my solution.

Here is a handy-dandy list of some of my favorite bible verses that I like to read when I am going through hard times or maybe even when I am praising through good times.

Feeling Tired or Weak?

But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. - Isaiah 40:32

Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be discouraged for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. - Isaiah 41:1

Be on our guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong. And do everything with love. - 1 Corinthians 16:13-14

For I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength. - Philippians 4:!3

Feeling Impatient?

Yet I am confident I will see the Lord's goodness while I am here in the land of the living. Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord. - Psalm 27:13-14

So let's not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don't give up. - Galatians 6:9

Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. - James 1:19

Feeling Worthless?

You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother's womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex. Your workmanship is marvelous, how well I know it... How precious are your thoughts about me? O God They cannot be outnumbered! I can't even count them: they outnumber the grains of sand! And then I wake up, you are still with me! - Psalm 139: 13-14, 17-18

You are altogether beautiful, my darling, beautiful in every way. - Song of Songs 4:7

But whatever I am now, it is all because God poured out his special favor on me, and not without results. For I have worked harder than any of the other apostles; yet it was not I but God who was working through me by his grace. - 1 Corinthians 15:10

For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. - 2 Timothy 1:7

Feeling Vulnerable?

Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life... Mark out a straight path for your feet; stay on the safe path. Don't get sidetracked; keep your feet from following evil. - Proverbs 4:23,26-27

If you think you are standing strong, be careful not to fall. The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure. - 1 Corinthians 10:12-13

Feeling Unmotivated?

Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life. - Proverbs 13:12

Feeling Judged?

People may be right in their own eyes, but the Lord examines their heart. Proverbs 21:2

The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is? But I, the Lord, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I give all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve. - Jermiah 17:9-10

Feeling Stressed?

So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today's trouble is enough for today. Matthew 6:34

Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. - 1 Peter 5:7

Feeling Alone?

If God is for us who can ever be against us? - Romans 8:31

He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. - 2 Corinthians 1:4

Feeling Unloved?

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow- not even the powers of hell can separate us from God's love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below- indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. - Romans 8:38-39

Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. - 1 Corinthians 13:7

This is just the surface level of the great things you can find in the Bible to help guide you through any conflict that may appear in your life... I would continue and describe my interpretation of each verse, but that's my challenge to you. Read these and see how it relates to your life because when you find that personal relation it will have an even larger impact in your life!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
