Change is a part of all of our lives; however, many of us find it difficult to embrace despite the fact that it’s impossible to avoid. We cling to the familiar and often struggle in moving on from the people, places, and memories that were once a part of our past but cease to exist in our present and future. However, refusing to let go and denying the changes taking place around you will never leave you feeling satisfied; you will constantly carry around a void as the people and things you cling to are no longer a part of your life and may never be again. While the present may exceed the blessings the past brought you in many ways, you’ll fail to see this positive growth as you remain focused on the things you believe to be missing from your life.
However, in finding the strength to let go of the past and embrace the change life brings you, you’ll find that despite the fact that you may have suffered some degree of loss, you’ve experienced an incredible level of growth and gained many new blessings as well. Change doesn’t have to be negative, and if you shift your perspective on what it means to experience change you’ll discover that change doesn’t mean to lose, it simply means that life is giving you the chance to experience a new variety of opportunities and blessings. Just because things are different than they were in the past doesn’t mean they’re worse in any way-- in fact, they can often be far better.
We were created to learn and to grow; however, knowledge and growth can’t be acquired if we are constantly standing still and only getting to look at life from a single perspective. It is necessary for people to come and go from our lives, it is necessary for us to experience new places, and it is necessary for us to both lose and gain opportunities. While this may be difficult to accept in the moment, change and loss aren’t designed to impact us in a negative way, they’re instead mediums of bringing us new perspectives, experiences, and knowledge. While change can be difficult to welcome, it’s so important that you find the strength to embrace it; for the more you appreciate it, the more you’ll be able to benefit from the positive things it serves to bring into your life. So let go of your past, embrace both your gains and losses and fearlessly welcome the change that shapes you each and every day—you’ll find yourself feeling far happier if you do so.
