Dear Best Friend,
I'm not exactly sure where to begin due to the fact that you've been by my side for years. All I know is that I'm extremely lucky to have someone in my life that has been there for me through it all. This letter is to say thank you.
Thank you for just being there. Through the happy times, and the tough times, having you present means everything to me. Even if it's by phone call or text, I can always count on you. If I'm lucky enough to be with you at the time, your hug fixes so much. Who else would it be acceptable for me to drunk cry to?
Thank you for giving the best advice. You know me better than most. We have grown up together and you have seen it all. You are never bias, and I know how much you care. You truly want what is best for me and you will make sure I have it. As a result you give the most genuine advice. Even though let's be real, sometimes I don't always want to hear it.
Thank you for just getting it. I don't even have to say much sometimes, you can read my mind. You can even tell my mood before I can. No matter what the mood may be, with one look you can tell. Sometimes I will try to hide it, but it is impossible because you already know. And you are right there when you know I'm not OK.
Thank you for being you. You are the most giving person that I know. The amount that you do for me, even miles away is unbelievable. Being away at college makes it hard, but our relationship is still the same. Your cute texts to check up on me brighten my day.Once we are reunited we spend five minutes catching up, and then we are right back where we left off. It feels like nothing has changed. Because it hasn't.
Thank you for all of the laughs. You make me laugh so hard, my stomach cramps up. We can joke about absolutely anything and everything because we know everything about each other. We like and dislike the same people which honestly makes things funnier. Sometimes we just sit back and laugh at our lives together, I need that.
Thank you for all of the great times. We are the type of people who get all dressed up, planning to go out, but we never make it out the door. We can lay in bed, do absolutely nothing and we end up having more fun. On the rare occasion that we actually have plans, and make it out, you can find us dancing alone regardless of what songs playing. Who cares if the party sucks? We make our own fun.
Thank you for being my best friend for life. As we have grown up together, our friendship has only gotten stronger. Yeah, long distance can be tough, but it's worth it. No matter where we end up, I know you aren't going anywhere. And I cannot wait for all that is to come, because I know it will be great.
Love always,
Your Very Lucky Best Friend.
