Dear Kristen,

Happy Birthday, bestfriend! I almost refuse to believe that you're 22 because it seems like just yesterday we were celebrating when you turned 18. I hope that this year you get everything you want, because you deserve that and more. Thanks for always being there for me, and thank you for being my friend through all these years.

I hope that 22 brings you a happy and successful future, especially since you'll only have one more semester of college after it. I hope that 21 treated you well and I know that 22 will do the same. I know that people imagine that when you're 22, that means you're suddenly older and have your sh*t together because you'll be in the real world soon -- but just know that you can still live your life and have fun this year too. I hope that you achieve your goals and that (as cheesy as it sounds) your dreams come true.

I hope that we'll both be on break during your birthday so we can celebrate! I know it's not the same as going out for drinks last year, but we can still think of something fun to do. Maybe you me and Bri can have another smores and the O.C marathon - did you know that it's on Hulu now? Anyway, I want you to know how proud I am of you. You've accomplished so much and I always knew that you were made for a career in music. You've grown a lot, especially during these 4 years of college and being able to witness that has been wonderful.

In the words of Taylor Swift: "Everything will be alright if we just keep dancing like we're 22." So just now that everything's gonna work out, and I know that this year will be great for you. Luboo always, bffl. Have a fantastic day and night of your birthday.

From, your bestfriend,

Kari

Epic Creation Myths: Norse Origins Unveiled

What happened in the beginning, and how the heavens were set in motion.

The Norse Creation Myth

Now, I have the everlasting joy of explaining the Norse creation myth. To be honest, it can be a bit kooky, so talking about it is always fun. The entire cosmos is included in this creation myth, not just the earth but the sun and the moon as well. This will be a short retelling, a summary of the creation myth, somewhat like I did with Hermod's ride to Hel.

8tracks radio

We all scroll through the radio stations in the car every once in a while, whether its because we lost signal to our favorite one or we are just bored with the same ol' songs every day. You know when you're going through and you hear a song where you're just like "I forgot this existed!" and before you know it, you're singing every word? Yeah, me too. Like, 95% of the time. If you're like me and LOVE some good throwback music, here's a list of songs from every genre that have gotten lost in time, but never truly forgotten.

beer on the beach

Summer is hot and humid, and it's almost like summer was made specifically to drink the refreshing, cold, crisp wonderful, delicious, nutritious nectar of the gods. Which is none other than beer; wonderful cold beer. With summer playing peek-a-boo around the corner while we finish up this semester, it's time to discuss the only important part of summer. And if you haven't already guessed, it's beer. There are few things I take more seriously than my beer, in order are: sports... and beer. Here are my favorite summer brews:
