Laughing Is Legit

Laughter takes the good of life and makes it better.

My friends are constantly telling me that I laugh too much. In my opinion, there is no such thing as too much laughter. If you think about it, laughter has only good outcomes. When you laugh, you are happier, your friends are happier, and the world seems a little brighter.

People take something as simple as laughter for granted. Nobody ever really thinks about how lucky we are to be able to experience the act of joy and bliss through laughter. I don’t know about you, but I actually cannot imagine the world without laughter.

Do you remember the last time you laughed so hard your stomach hurt? That is actually one of the best feelings in the entire world. Laughter like that can take you out of any situation for a few moments. Even if you are having the worst day of your life, if you take a moment to laugh it makes you forget for a little everything that is going on around you.

And you cannot tell me that there is someone in this world that doesn’t like to laugh. Like let's be real, you can’t go wrong with trying to make people laugh. Laughter is contagious, and we should spread it to others in order to make the world a better place.

But what is so crazy about laughter, is that it actually can affect your well-being. The phrase “laughter is the best medicine” actually has validity to it. It didn’t just come out of nowhere. Laughter is very similar to actual medicine. Laughter relaxes your body by relieving physical tension and stress. Laughter decreases your stress hormones and increases your infection LaughterLaughterLaughter antibodies. This prevents sickness and keeps your immune system strong. It also triggers the body to release endorphins, which are essentially the feel-good chemicals that we have. So when you laugh it is scientifically a fact that you will be in a better mood. Laughter also protects the heart because it improves the function of blood vessels and heightens blood flow throughout the body. If you want to read more about that, you can here.

Laughter is better for your body physically and mentally than actual medication. There are so many benefits to laughing every day. Each ounce of laughter changes your mood just a little bit more until you realize you are in a constant state of joy.

One day I just decided to start laughing more and ever since I have become a much happier person. I truly enjoy all the little moments of humor that life has to offer.

The reality is sometimes life gets really hard, and all you can do to keep yourself going is to find something to laugh about.

So if laughter actually increases well-being and makes us feel happier, you have no reason not to do it!

Laughter is the best way to impact not only your own mood but others. It promotes friendship, happiness, and an appreciation for life. If you want to make a difference in the world, spread a little happiness by offering laughter to those around you.

Like my good friend Matthew Thomas once said, “I mean one laugh can change the world."

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
