A Journey Through The Spirit World
mundopiscodelico.blogspot.com

A poem about a journey I took four years ago in the summer of 2012 with a few close friends. Set in a beautiful small town on the lake in Ohio, post-graduation. A wonderful eye-opening experience for us all, as we dove into the spirit world and other dimensions within our own heads and the universe alike. It's the beginning of a story of a spiritual awakening; a spiritual journey. Where we began to set light to our egos and the illusion we call reality, around us and see it all for what it really is.

It all began on a warm summer night and would not end for another 12 days. Very much like "The Matrix" it all started with a red pill.

Surrounded by the faceless
None see what I see
They are all faithless
My mind is stuck in a loop and it continues to race
Will this ever end
One hundred dead songs dance on the wall
As I struggle to grasp reality
The devil he comes to call
The sun and the stars will keep me safe
While the three c's plot to take me away
Am I sane am I sane
Tell me is this is real
Or is it all a dream
The ceiling falls in and I pray for sanity to prevail
The emptiness is haunting
When you watch your world crumble
I walk an endless journey
Under street lights
That die when I walk beneath

Darkness begins to consume the vessel
Its now but a shadow walker
Searching for the light
It'll stop to smell the flowers
In the dead of the night
It'll wonder could the grass be greener
Over beyond the horizons out of sight
Where the sun it is shining
Where everything it loves isn't dying
Where the monsters aren't in its head
Don't let them in, don't let them in

With thoughts
Of violence and hate
Of self-loathing and self-destruction
Of all the pain that we create
Of their lies and delusions
Of sadness and hysteria
Of paranoia and confusion

It's starting all over again will this end
They wont stop, they wont stop
As the vessel convulses and it begins to shake
It grows weary and weak
Its stomach is churning
The room is spinning
Shaking and morphing
Taking on a new shape a new texture
Theres a ringing sound in the ears
Heart beats faster out of fear
Bodily fluids pouring from all orpheus's
Green black and red
The posions are relinquishe
Is it dead

With a flash It can be seen
The birth of everything
A face so familiar Its like I already know her
With a smile so sincere he must be a friend
Knowing them all to well
But how does it end

I wake in a daze
And come to realize
That I exist and I am
Not just a cartoon on paper
Or a dispersing thought
Within someone else's head
I am real
I am still alive
I have seen a story
It is mine
It gives me hope
It gives me peace of mind

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

There have been many lessons learned.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
