College is the time where we get to meet and experience new people. We will have the chance to meet some of the best people, some of the strangest people, and unfortunately some of the worst people. This is when we have to decide when you walk away.

Walk away if you’re only a convenience to them. If they only talk to you when they need something or only want to be around you as a last resort. You are so much more than a convenient last resort.

Walk away when you feel anything else but happiness around them. Your happiness should be your number one priority. Life’s too short to surround yourself with people that don’t make you happy.

Walk away if you’re drained and just overall exhausted. Being with someone shouldn’t take more energy away from you than running does. You should feel good and energized.

Walk away if they aren’t good for your mental state. You should feel happy and wanted and everything in between. You should surround yourself with people that have just enough love in their hearts as you do.

Walk away if you were thinking of someone while reading this article. People come into your life for a reason, they just happen to be a lesson instead of a blessing.
