8 Things You Need To Tell Yourself Everyday

We’re all aware of how a bad day continues to become worse throughout the day. Sometimes, it’s hard to get out of the rut. However, at the end of the night, it’s important to remember that it is simply a bad day, not a bad life. Regardless of good or bad days, here’s a list of 8 things you should tell yourself everyday, even when you don’t think so.

  • You are worth it
    • ...even when you don’t think so. You are worth the pain, the struggle, the glory, the beauty and everything in between. You. Are. Worth. The. Fight. Your current situation is not a reflection of the outcome.
  • You are beautiful
    • ...even when you don’t think so. Inside and out, you radiate with beauty. The kindness in your heart is shown through your actions. The potential-seeking soul is shown through the words you speak. Your beauty within appears on the outside.
  • You are talented
    • ...even when you don’t think so. You’ve been blessed with countless talents, some you may have yet to discover. And that’s okay. There’s a plan for you, a plan for me, a plan for everyone, even when we don;t believe it. You are given everything you need to succeed in this life.
  • You are intelligent
    • ...even when you don’t think so. You know more about your life than anyone else, believe that! You are much smarter than you will ever realize. You aren’t even aware of how informed you are!
  • You are capable
    • ...even when you don’t think so. Every life experience you’ve had the ability to encounter, push through and overcome has prepared you for every future possibility. You need to know that whatever life throws at you, you can catch, and you can fight back.
  • You are confident
    • ...even when you don’t think so. Sometimes, we have to tell ourselves our own qualities in order to fully believe them. And sometimes, we have to tell others the words we want to hear, in order to need these affirmations a little less.
  • You are independent
    • ...even when you don’t think so. The only person consistently walking you through your problems is yourself. You are the only person you need to solve your problems. You have the ability and kindness to take care of yourself. Believe this.
  • You are loved
    • ...especially when you don’t think so. You are so loved; so, so loved. You are loved by God, your family, your friends and even by people that do not know you entirely. But, most importantly, you are loved by those who do know you wholeheartedly; by those who know every flaw you have, every flaw you may think you have, every poor decision you’ve made, every poor decision you have yet to make and every single poor decision you made while knowing it was a poor decision. You are so incredibly loved.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
