There surprisingly are a lot of things to do at a beach vacation, besides the beach.

1. Always make sure to bring a good book.

Or a few depending on how fast of a reader you are and how much it rains.

2. Make up dances.

This has always been a classic of ours. Making up dances for our little cousins!

3. Puzzles.

It's amazing how quickly you can get a 1000 piece puzzle done with 23 people and countless hours with nothing else to do.

4. Watch movies.

Hopefully you brought enough movies or are able to order enough on Amazon to keep you occupied.

5. Family board games.

Last night's round of Family Charades proved that family board games actually can be extremely fun.

While you may not get the tan you were hoping for on your beach vacation, you will still hopefully make the best of the situation. Some things in life are simply not controllable, thanks to Mother Nature but you can still figure out the many things there are to do at a beach house besides the beach.

bruce springsteen album cover born in the usa

Anyone who was born and raised in New Jersey (or anywhere really) knows of Bruce Springsteen, whether or not they like him is a whole other situation. I hope that his hundreds of classic rock songs and famous high energy performances, even in his sixties he can put on better concerts than people half his age, are at least recognizable to people of all ages. Love him or hate him (I identify with the former) you have to admit that some of his songs and interviews have inspirational quotes and lyrics.
