Is She Worth It?

When she loves, she loves hard.

Loving the girl who’s been hurt too many times in the past is not an easy task, and it will be exhausting. She will undoubtedly seem like she loves too hard, or too much. Don't let this scare you away. Loving her will be difficult, and that might even be an understatement. You might be skeptical, and I promise you, you’ll become frustrated at times. You might even find yourself questioning whether the extra effort this girl requires is even worth it in the first place. If you find yourself in this position, try to see things from her perspective. Once you understand her, you’ll see why she’s special, and why you should never let her go.

She might need reassurance. She’ll be able to to detect the smallest change in your tone, and she’ll be the first to spot a change in your body language or mannerisms. Trust me, she knows when something’s up. Even if it’s not intentional or you don’t think you’re doing anything that could come across odd or different, changes in behavior or routine set off an alarm in her brain that something’s not quite right. If she’s on to something, talk to her. If this isn’t the case, don’t accuse her of anything. If she questions you, don’t get upset. She doesn’t mean for you to feel untrusted, and she isn’t trying to be “nosey” or invasive. She worries about you. She wants the best for you because she cares. Becoming paranoid is just an instinct to the girl who’s been burned one too many times.

This girl will be fiercely and unapologetically loyal, no matter what. She’ll stick by your side through whatever you throw her way because she knows what it feels like to be left and to be hurt. She’s not going anywhere. She’d never want you to know that same pain. Because of this, she also knows that giving up is not an option. If she really loves you, she’ll find a way to make things work and see it through.

For this girl, opening up isn’t something she sees as casual. She doesn’t know how to love “half-way.” When she gives, she gives herself, and sooner or later you’ll discover that she cares about you more than you thought possible. She'll be all yours, and only yours. She wants nothing more than to see you happy. So if you’re lucky enough to be loved by one of these girls…well, you’re lucky enough.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
