Hey Pals,

So, you know those “Crazies” that start getting ready for Christmas way before Christmastime? Yeah, I’m one of them. And don’t call us “crazy," it’s a little upsetting. Why do people shame us for decorating “too early?" After all, it is the most wonderful time of the year. Trust me, we aren’t doing this because we hate Thanksgiving, so please stop saying that. Also, isn’t the whole theme of Thanksgiving to appreciate and give thanks? Because let me tell you this, I am very thankful for Christmas and would very much appreciate eating my turkey next to a spruced up Christmas tree.

Celebrating Christmas before everyone else is not lame -- unless keeping the Christmas spirit alive for as long as possible is considered lame these days. Christmastime to me is like living a fairy-tale. It’s the closest thing to magic I have ever experienced. It is a truly magnificent time filled with lights, songs, traditions, decorations, festive colors, movies,…etc. It’s a time to celebrate the greatest birthday that has ever graced the planet. It is a feeling of constant warmth in the pit of my stomach. It is a time of hope, love, joy, and pure happiness. Stop trying to take that away from me.

My Christmas tree has made a home in my room since late October. Do I regret my decision? Every time that I see it, I am reminded of my favorite time of the year. It instantly lifts my mood and makes me giddy for the time ahead. So, no, I do not regret it. Maybe you should put a tree in your room, so you can experience this feeling. Maybe if you had a tree, you would stop nagging me about mine.

Listen, you eager and impatient Christmas lovers, stop apologizing for your enthusiasm. We have to be strong and stick together. We should not be embarrassed/afraid to belt "All I Want For Christmas Is You" in November. Hit those Mariah notes. If you want to Snapchat story a picture of you watching a Christmas movie, do it. Ignore the disapproving snap responses and continue watching "Home Alone" for the 62nd time.

Let me close by saying that Christmas is not just a magical time, it is a divine time. My joyous Christmas spirit directly reflects my love for Jesus. Why not extend the party? Can we all participate in this holly, jolly, flipping fun time of singing, baking, and giving? If you are waiting until Thanksgiving or the 1st of December to join us, that is completely fine. But as for me, I will keep Christmas alive and coursing through my veins for as long as possible.

Sincerely,

A Christmas "Crazy" Who Keeps Christmas Music On Her iPod All Year Long

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

There have been many lessons learned.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
