If you have not ever heard of the Myers-Briggs Personality Test, then you need some ed-ju-ma-cation right now!

It's a free and easy 15- to 20-minute test you can take to find out what type of personality you have. For instance, I am an INFJ, which is an "Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling and Judging" type of person. I am what they call, "the Advocate," or the person who will help others become the best person they can be, for themselves, which is so me.

So, why I think it is important to know your personality type is because a lot of what I read about my personality type cleared up a lot of things about myself that I didn't fully understand.

Now, this isn't to say that personality tests will change your life around, but I do believe they will help you better understand the type of person you are, and why you may handle situations the way that you do.

Also, just because I may be an INFJ does not mean that someone else who has that same personality type also acts the same way I do because every single person is unique, different and special in their own way.

So, here are my eight reasons why I think it is important to take a personality test.

1. You may know already if you're an introvert or an extrovert, but now you will understand how to embrace your introvert or extrovert mind.

2. If you didn't know what to do with your life, this test can give you a better idea of where to start. After you take the test, it will give you a list of career choices that your personality type usually flocks to, and does pretty well in.

3. The test will give you a list of your strengths and weaknesses and how to better handle them in the future.

4. It will help you better understand other people.

5. When you meet others with your same personality type, you'll feel like you found your "mind" soul mates and you're not the only one of your kind.

6. You'll feel like you can now get your life together, since you found out who you are and no one can tell you any different.

7. Once you find out your personality type, you'll want to keep reading about it for hours and hours until you certify yourself an expert.

8. Since you'll be a certified expert on personalities, you start telling other people the types they may be because you read all about the other types too.
