The University of Missouri Interfraternity Council will participate in the Boys and Girls Club of Columbia's Holiday Drive once again in 2014. The annual drive takes place every November and benefits after school activities and facilities for Columbia children ages 5-18.
The IFC will present a check to the Boys and Girls Club of Columbia Thursday, December 11 at the main facility. The presentation follows IFC's first ever Christmas Lights Competition, where fraternities are encouraged to decorate their chapter house. Chapters may decorate their house until Sunday, December 7 at 5 p.m., and judging will take place Monday, December 8. The results of the competition will be announced to the chapter presidents on Thursday, December 11 following a visit to the Boys and Girls Club of Columbia.
The Boys and Girls Club of Columbia is a branch of The Boys and Girls Club of America, which supports at risk youth who go without adult supervision after school. BGCC sponsors youth programs in character development, health and fitness, after school tutoring, Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts, financial management and more. Last year, Mizzou's IFC donated $3,000 for the Holiday Drive.
