The Queen of England’s Birthday is on April 21st and I am going to give you some advice on throwing your own fun Queen’s Birthday Party.
Name:
Naturally, you must know the name of the person you are celebrating for but it can get a bit tricky. First of all, The Queen’s name is Elizabeth Alexandra Mary. The host(s) and yourself can decide whether or not it would be disrespectful to call her by her “commoner name” or if it is too formal to call her for the nation’s position as The Queen. One thing you can do is to invite guests and tell them it’s for a friend named Elizabeth and drop hints as to who that Elizabeth may be (but never admit fully to being a party for The Queen). When guests arrive, they’ll be surprised and readily join to the party, realizing it’s for The Queen. The question of which name to use will be solved.
Decorations:
The theme for the party should definitely hold the national colors: Red, White, and Blue. Table cloths can hold all three or can hold each color individually. It would look beautiful to have these patriotic balloons up in the ceiling with helium gas and others on the floor to cover up some empty spaces. Don’t forget about streamers and glow in the dark sticks. Little things can go a long way. Along with this, host(s) should look up information about all that The Queen has done in her years in position. Since she is turning 90 years old, try to come up with one prop or important things she has done for every year. Guests will definitely learn a lot about The Queen and will be fascinated by all that she has done and all the hard work you have done for the party.
Props:
Have music that is popular, patriotic, and that will liven up the party. Try to slip in the national anthem when you can. Get The Queen masks and distribute them at the party. Now there is a Queen everywhere you look and surely, you can make a game out of this. Pick a name out of a hat and make this person The Queen (amongst queens) for the night and give them a (fake) sword to knight other guests with different funny honors such as: Knight of the never-text-back-ers, or Knight of the Best Jokes, etc. Anything goes.
Cake:
The cake should definitely have The Queen’s face on it and should have the flag somewhere in the background. Get creative, put a beautiful quote or write a punny one. Make sure the cake captures the best of The Queen’s legacy thus far.
Food and Entertainment:
Guests should enjoy from the most stereotypical of the British foods: Tea and Crumpets. Since it is The Queen’s Birthday, host(s) should try to make all of her favorite meals and none of what she doesn’t. Luckily for us, her Royal Chef has revealed her favorite meals and what she usually dines. Go check out the link!
Whatever you do, the most important thing is that the guests have fun and that as the guests head home you all exclaim “God Save The Queen!”
