After finishing my first week of college, I got to say it has been a very interesting time and it’s only being a week since I have been in College and so much has happened. I guess I will begin with Move in day.
Move-in Day
After waking up at 2 in the morning to make it here by 7 am, only to move into my new home for the next year, I got to say it was a long process, but once everything was put together I was pretty happy. I got to finally meet my roommate and say goodbye to my mom, and see old friends I met three weeks ago at Math camp. Once settled in, I was excited for was in store.
Welcome Week
Welcome Week was very interesting as well. Imagine seeing 5,000 lost and confused freshman students looking for their small groups and then all of a sudden a rainstorm from hell comes out of nowhere only to shower you down while you are wearing a White t-shirt and shorts. Got to love Tennessee weather J! Overall my favorite part of welcome week would probably have to the club fair Friday night. I’m excited to check two clubs for sure and meet new people
Classes
It wouldn’t be a full week of college if I didn’t mention how my classes were. I really enjoy how my classes are set up. I’m done with class on Mondays and Fridays by 12:05pm and then Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays I have a 2-hour break and then my last class finishes at 3:25pm which honestly isn’t that bad. Most of my professor are pretty cool, and I’m sure Math is going to kick my ass since my math professor has a very thick accent, but we’ll see what happens. I’m just glad I made it through the first week without missing class (thank god for coffee am I right?)
People
I think the last thing I have really experienced this week is all the different people I have met on campus. It is crazy to go from having 2500 people around me to 30,000 but I also like that because you can always meet new people all the time and see all types of people. With different stories, different lives, and different experience of life and I really think that’s why college is a cool time to go through because you get expose to people of all different types.
I can’t wait to see how the next few weeks go, but if I can make it through the first week I think I can make it through the next four years.
