After having the longest semester, I have no other goals than to make the most that I have this summer. I probably spent most of my time thinking about everything that I want to do then what I was actually supposed to this semester. Needless to say, I vow to make sure that I experience myself and the world around me the most that I can. The plan? There isn’t one. Just some things that I hope to check off.
1. To read more
I know. Even more reading after a semester. But now it is time to actually have some pleasure reading done. Maybe some books to enlighten me.
2. Listen to more music
I absolutely love music. Especially watching and listening to live music. There is nothing better than having an out of body experience. Going with friends makes it even better.
3. Go to the beach more
It is such a blessing to live near the beach. It is incredible to wake up and have the desire to go to the beach and actually have the option to. The beach has never failed to lift my mood.
4. Visit new coffee shops
Now that there is time...I CAN ACTUAL ENJOY A CUP OF COFFEE! What is absolutely so neat about most coffee shops is the amount of local art that they support and all the people that you can meet. Each coffee shop is unique so I am excited to enjoy every second of it.
5. Go on road trips. Even the instate ones
There are an incredible amount of places that I have yet to go to here in Florida, so this is where I plan to start! Visiting all the springs and national parks.
6. Create
I may not be the best painter but there is something that is overwhelmingly relaxing about it. Sometimes you can surprise yourself with what you can make. I know that happens to me more often than not. Making videos and writing are just a few more things that creating consists of. The summer can be filled with just as much art as sleep.
7. Visit museums
Museums are overwhelmingly underrated. A lot of museums are not just filled with whatever content they are filled with but can be interactive. Sometimes it feels as if you are not even in the same time and place.
8. Catch up with old friends
You do not realize how much you miss your friends until you hang out with them. This summer I hope to laugh and rekindle any friendships that I might have neglected for a while. I know they would want to, too.
9. Watch old movies
Okay, Forrest Gump may not be the oldest movie, but I can watch it a million times. Old movies are something else that are underrated and there is nothing wrong with getting a little cultured with some vintage cinema.
10. Take it one day at a time
Nevertheless, I am going to take this summer one day at a time. Going with the flow and spending time with family and friends. This is my last summer home and I do not want to waste time stressing over plans and potentially getting hurt by unmet expectations.
