If you have a brother or sister, you'll definitely know what I mean when I say we take our family for better or for worse. A lot of times, our siblings can really be pains in the you-know-what but we always stick together. Some of the best times in my life have come from hanging with my brothers and sisters and I wouldn't give them up for the world, even though they're annoying a lot of the time! Here are 11 things I love about having siblings.

1. Partners in Crime

Kick butt together and get into trouble together, it's what we do.

2. Parents Trust You Together!

This one's pretty great once you're older. If at least one of you is responsible, best believe they're loosening the leash a bit!

3. Babysitting

Oh yeah, getting paid to watch them is pretty awesome too! It's a guaranteed job.

4. Vacations

Okay, this one can be pretty bad with road trips, but it's all worth it when you get to bond in the end.

5. School Bus Buddies

Who else but your sibling to sit next to you on the bus and make sure you get to the right class? It definitely gets rid of some anxiety, if you're the younger one that is.

6. Life Advice

Sometimes your siblings know you more than you know yourself and they almost always give it to you straight. I've learned to appreciate the blunt, unforgiving advice (eventually).

7. Bodyguards

You mess with my sibling? You better prepare for a world of hurt!

8. Holiday Sidekick

Dealing with crazy family? Are the grandparents driving you batty? Your siblings probably feel the exact same way and it's nice to know that you can commiserate with someone.

9. Sharing Clothes

This one is mostly for sisters and sometimes it's forced sharing, but for the most part, this is a great perk! Sometimes they just have cuter stuff.

10. Pranks!!!!

Pranks are touchy and usually result in punishments on both sides but hey, at least you get a bit of fun out of your sibling's anger?

11. A Shoulder To Cry On

I love being able to talk to my brothers and sisters about my problems. They're always going to be there and it's a comfort to me to be able to talk to them.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
