Makeup is something that every girl has experimented with over the years. It is an excellent way to feel good about yourself or just to try out a cool new look. More and more people are getting better at using their makeup thanks to great YouTube beauty gurus and celebrities, such as the Kardashians, releasing their own beauty secrets and tutorials. As a girl who loves makeup, I have heard so much praise and criticism over the years about my makeup use. Even though we are in a generation where overly lined lips and fake lashes can be part of an everyday look, girls who wear makeup often face some hate. Here are some of the things we are sick of hearing.

1. "Guys don't like it when girls wear a lot of makeup."

This may come as a shock, but girls actually do things to make themselves feel good, not to attract guys. We love makeup because we get to accentuate the features we love and hide the insecurities we don't. Not everything is about guys.

2. "All that makeup is going to ruin your skin."

This is completely untrue. You could wear as much makeup as you like as long as you take care of your skin. If you are regularly cleansing and moisturizing your face, then there is no need to worry about makeup ruining your skin. There are plenty of people out there who don't wear makeup and develop bad skin because they don't properly take care of it. As long as you take care of yourself, you are fine.

3. "Wow, I knew you would look great all natural without makeup."

Most of the time when people compliment girls who wear makeup on wearing "no makeup," the girl usually has some foundation, concealer, and mascara on at the least. So the "natural" look that you are complimenting is not all that natural.

4. "Wow, you look so tired. Are you OK?"

When someone who usually wears makeup actually leaves the house without an ounce of anything on, people think they look tired and sad. It's because the dark circles that everyone has show because they don't have concealer on. So basically you are criticized for wearing makeup, then get told you look tired and sick when you actually don't.

5. "Girls catfish guys by wearing too much makeup."

If you think my eyelids are naturally covered in glitter and my eyelashes are 214,827,346 inches long, then you need to address bigger problems than me "tricking" you about what I look like.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
